Good points, Martin. Thanks for sharing them. My impression is that Holacracy is such an unusual case, it has become a whipping boy for certain business and tech journalists, who believe it is too ‘wacky’ to succeed, and thus safe to bet against. This of course misses the essential point that Holacracy is one of many experiments towards self-organisation. In this regard, your point about context is vital. There’s no ‘one size fits all’ model for self-organisation. I’d love to see a comparative studies of different organisations working with Holacracy, in order to get insight into what works and doesn’t work in different contexts.
